Getting the fit right A helmet that's too loose won't protect you in an impact, and one that's too tight will give you a headache before you're a mile down the road. Measure around the largest part of your head with a soft tape measure and match it to each brand's size chart — sizing varies between manufacturers, so your size in one brand won't always carry over to another.
Understanding certifications Look for a DOT (Department of Transportation) sticker on any helmet you buy in the US — it's the minimum legal safety standard. Many of our helmets also carry ECE 22.06 certification, a stricter international standard, or independent Snell certification. Check each product page for the specific certifications on that helmet.
